The Ogun State Government says it would allocate 100 shops at the Sagamu International Market to some Japanese investors for the assemblage of electronic materials. Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru who dropped this hint when he visited the market to ascertain the level of work on the- ongoing rehabilitation, added that the step was part of measures to bring life back into the market and further boost commerce in the State.      Accompanied by the Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Efuwape, Otunba Ashiru said that a sunday market would be introduced to increase utilization of facilities in the market, adding that a three-month moratorium would also be granted traders to sell at the market’s open space as a way of encouraging them.     He warned all allottes who have not been making use of the shops allocated to them to re-open immediately or risk forfeiture of such allocation as government would not continue to allow some traders under-utilize the shops at the expense of other genuine users willing to take them up.   Speaking on the level of work already done at the market, Otunba Ashiru explained that some damaged roofs had been replaced and a total of 159 doors of shops fixed, while toilets and boreholes were now functioning, adding that Governor Ibikunle Amosun had already settled an N18m debt owed the Power Holding Company of Nigeria by traders to restore electricity and make the market more conducive for them.
