Super Eagles defender, Ayodele Adeleye, made his debut for new Russian team Kuban Krassnodar in a club friendly against Chernomorets which ended goalless over the weekend.

The former Tavriya defender who signed a three- year deal after joining on a free transfer played the entire duration of the game and earned the coaches' praise with his assured performance.

"I am pleased with all of them. Adeleye and Kabore did very well in their first match. Adeleye particularly did very well in the defence," coach Leonid Kuchuk told the club's official website.

With the introduction of his new recruits into the team, Kuchuk believes his side will be among the strong contenders for a top two finish at the end of the season.

Kuban Krassnodar are currently fourth on the Russian log with 32 points from 19 games- 10 points adrift league leaders CSKA Moscow from the same number of games.

"I think with these players, we will continue to enhance our performances in the league and finish in a good position at the end of the season," Kuchuk said.

Kuban Krassnodar will begin their second half of the campaign at home to Amkar Perm next Friday at the Kuban stadium and Adeleye is expected to make his official debut for the club.
