Real Betis of Spain midfielder, Nosakhare Igiebor, has revealed that unity among players and technical officials was major key in Super Eagles triumph at the concluded 29th Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

"We thank God who in His infinite mercies granted us this victory," starts Igiebor who drew the Super Eagles level with Liberia en route the Africa Cup of Nations on September 18, 2012.

"I think the major reason for the success in South Africa where we won the Nations Cup was the unity among the players."

"There was unity, love and commitment among the players and these also transcended to the technical crew. We're like one big family with one common goal- which was for us to win the cup."

"The team was united. We believed in ourselves and we we're determined to work hard and succeed," Igiebor said.

Igiebor rated Super Eagles games against Zambia and Burkina Faso as the toughest games they played in South Africa on the way to lifting Nigeria's third AFCON title.

"The quarter- final match against Ivory Coast was more like a walk-over, but I think the games against Burkina Faso and Zambia were our toughest games during the Nations Cup," the former Warri Wolves midfielder added.

Nosa Igiebor had previously featured for the U-23 Dream Team under Augustine Eguavoen before making his senior national team debut in 2011.

He had featured for Lillestrom of Norway between 2009 through 2011 before switching over to Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel in 2011/2012 season before a move to Real Betis in 2012.
