The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG) an International development firm in Washington DC, seeks a Data Analysis and Management Expert to facilitate a workshop in Abuja, Nigeria
Background In October 2010, The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG) signed a Contract with USAID/Nigeria to implement a 5-Year Monitoring and Evaluation Management Services (MEMS II) project to support the Mission in the provision of an integrated Performance Management System that meets ADS requirement. The principal areas of work of the MEMS II Project are:
- Performance Monitoring – Evaluation Assistance – Information Dissemination and Capacity Building
Since the project's inception, a considerable amount of data has been/are being collected by USAID projects without adequate analytical rigor to support decision-making – a requirement of USAID's Evaluation Policy. In response, MEMS II will organize and conduct a 5-day Data Analysis Reporting and Use (DARU) workshop during early 2013. This workshop will serve as a proactive approach for sharing relevant knowledge and skills in order to enhance effective decision-making.
The Consultant shall develop a full set of training materials and shall facilitate timely implementation of a 5-day workshop to transfer knowledge and build the skills of participants pertinent to data analysis, reporting and use in various decision making aspects of managing the USAID/Nigeria program.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED OF CONSULTANT
-A post graduate degree or equivalent in social sciences -At least 15 years professional experience in the field of performance management and evaluation, including 5 years in international development -At least 10 years experience in facilitation/training of donor partners in performance management -Ability to facilitate using adult learning methodologies -Knowledge and skills in using common data analysis tools and instruments -Experience in developing training modules and participants learning materials -Exceptional interpersonal and facilitation skills in English -Ability to establish and meet concrete timelines for completing assignments
