Former Nigerian striker, Victor Agali, has called for greater level of discipline and consistency in the Super Eagles's game as the Stephen Keshi led side prepare to face the Harambee Stars of Kenya in this month's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Calabar.
.
Agali told Complete Sports that he was really impressed with the performance of the Super Eagles at the last Nations Cup in South Africa, but was quick to advise the players to get used to the pressure that comes with playing for the national team.
.
"It was a great achievement for the team and country. Obviously, it's nice for us to win the Nations Cup but the most important thing is to be consistent in our style of play," the former Schalke 04 of Germany forward striker began.
.
"I think their performance was okay because at times, we played some great football and sometimes it was not all that good but we must be consistent because every African country wants to defeat Nigeria in games to get recognition in African and world football."
.
The former Olympique Marseille forward also backed coach Stephen Keshi to qualify the current African champions for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
.
"He has done so well since taking charge of the Eagles and I believe he has a team that could qualify us for the next World Cup."
.
"Nobody gave Keshi and his team a chance to get to the semi-finals at AFCON and he went beyond that; and couple with the new players he introduced to the national team, I think he deserves credit from all well meaning Nigerians," Agali told Complete Sports.
Yes, Agali is right! It's nice to hear of Victor Agali after a long time. :)
