it is now certain that there is a deep political divide between Governor Babatunde Fashola and his predecessor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following yesterday's fence mending meeting called by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, to reconcile them over their differences.
This is as Action Congress is worried over the differences between the governor and Tinubu. This will be the umpteenth time since mid 2009 that Fashola and Tinubu would be seeking opportunity to resolve their obvious rift. The duo since last year had been playing "cat and mouse" though they consistently denied any feud between them.
However, the cold war became clearer last Thursday when a group which called itself 'New Face of Lagos' said to have a link with Tinubu placed an advertorial in the media in which they made several allegations of financial impropriety against Fashola. Whereas previous meetings were held at Bourdilon Street home of Tinubu in Ikoyi and State House, Marina, where Fashola resides with prominent stakeholders in Lagos politics in attendance, yesterday's meeting was held at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu on Lagos Island.
Although details of discussions at the meeting which lasted between 2p.m and 6p.m were sketchy as it was behind closed doors...
