Suspended Abia Warriors' technical adviser, Ifeanyi Onyedika has dismissed claim that he has been sacked from the Nigeria National League (NNL) side.

Onyedika was handed a suspension letter last Monday after his side went down 0-4 in Nnewi against Gabros FC on Matchday 10.

The former Enugu Rangers' player said the letter handed to him by the club secretary clearly spelt out that he is under suspension not sack though he does not see his recall as a do-or-die affair.

"The letter with me expressly said I'm suspended not sacked and the reason was failure at Gabros FC as well as not being able to pick an away point so far in the league.

"I know every team is gunning for promotion, people have been on my neck that I've not won an away point and I asked, how many teams have won an away match and how many, too, have suspended their coaches.

"I've done my best to consolidate the home matches, I know it is not late to pick away points.

"I'm not bothered by the development, it has happened, a coach's job is all about hiring and firing.

"If I'm recalled fine and good if not I look elsewhere for a job nothing says it must or not be in Abia Warriors," said Onyedika who has had a stint with Wikki Tourists said.

Onyedika however advised the stand-in coach to strive to win away matches as that was the reason for his suspension.

"I understand they defeated Apa United 3-0 at home on Matchday 11. The big challenge is to pick away points if not the coach will suffer suspension. I was suspended for not being able to pick points on the road," he said.
