Nairobi - Uhuru Kenyatta, who is leading in Kenya's presidential race, has accused former colonial master Britain of interfering in the East African nations' elections.
In a statement, Kenyatta's party, the Jubilee Coalition, slammed the "shadowy, suspicious and rather animated involvement of the British High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr Christian Turner, in Kenya's 2013 general election."
The party accused the British of pushing the electoral commission to include invalidated votes in the counting, making it harder for Kenyatta to pull off a first round win.
Turner denied the charges on his Twitter account, saying: "Unhelpful (& wrong) claims of international observers interference in election. Observers observing.... Not true that UK has position/view on rejected votes." - Sapa-dpa
