Kenya is set to officially commence training at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani on Thursday, in preparation for their crucial 2014 World Cup Qualifier against Nigeria later this month.

This will be the first session for new coach Adel Amrouche, who was appointed by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) late last month.

"We have the go-ahead from the federation. Everything is in place so we expect the players to start arriving tomorrow (Thursday), depending on the turnout we might have our first session under the new coach at the same venue in the afternoon.

We will try to maximize on the time available as the players will be required by their respective clubs for the league matches over the weekend" revealed the team's assistant coach James Nandwa.

Amrouche, who has been spotted in the terraces during several Kenyan Premier League matches and the Caf Champions League tie pitting Tusker against St Michel, has selected 27 local-based players in preparations for the tie away to the new African champions on March 22.

The local squad is expected to be beefed up by foreign-based players, who include Victor Wanyama, Dennis Oliech, Macdonald Mariga, Patrick Osiako and Arnold Origi.
