Title: CrunchWeek From A Pedicab - Because Why Not, It's SXSW [TCTV]
Post by: TechCrunch on Mar 11, 2013, 06:31 AM

Howdy! Welcome to another episode of CrunchWeek (http://techcrunch.com/video/crunchweek/), the weekly show where a few of us writers get together and chew the fat on a few of the biggest and most interesting stories from the past week.

As you are probably aware (and possibly (https://twitter.com/mweigel/status/310450576167141377) annoyed (https://twitter.com/Aboundlessworld/status/309908897701982208) about (https://twitter.com/mathewi/status/310107887076782080)), the South By Southwest conference (http://techcrunch.com/events/sxsw-2013/) in Austin, Texas is in full swing at the moment. Our usual CrunchWeek hostess Leena Rao (http://techcrunch.com/author/leena-rao/) is holding down the TechCrunch fort in San Francisco this year, so John Biggs (http://techcrunch.com/author/john-biggs) and Ryan Lawler (http://techcrunch.com/author/ryan-lawler) joined me for this very unique episode.

Since we figured, "What the heck, it's SXSW?" we filmed this entire CrunchWeek from the back of a pedicab. Austin is very crowded during this SXSW, and pedicabs are one of the several key options for getting around, so it's kind of pertinent. But mostly, it's just our tiny contribution to keeping it weird (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keep_Austin_Weird) while we're here — and, don't worry, we tipped our driver Alex very well.

Watch the video above to hear us chat above the din of traffic about Facebook's redesigned news feed (http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/07/facebook-launches-multiple-topic-based-feeds-bigger-images-and-a-consistent-design-across-devices/), the launch (http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/08/in-first-24-hours-of-3-0-launch-path-made-more-money-than-ever-and-sent-more-than-1m-messages/) of the message-happy (and revenue generating (http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/08/in-first-24-hours-of-3-0-launch-path-made-more-money-than-ever-and-sent-more-than-1m-messages/)) Path 3.0, and what apps and products are catching our eyes at SXSW (not surprisingly, Makerbot's latest 3D printer is a big hit (http://techcrunch.com/2013/03/08/makerbot-announces-its-first-easy-to-use-desktop-3d-scanner-the-digitizer/).)
