Millwall are planning to hold talks with out- of-contract Danny Shittu during the two- week international break later this month.
.
The Lions want the Nigerian tied down for next season before the end of March and will meet with his representatives imminently so that formal negotiations can begin.
.
Shittu, who said in January that he would "love to" prolong his stay at The Den, has held informal discussions with the club already and will be offered a 12-month extension.
.
Jackett is also expected to hand Taylor a long-term deal after the winger impressed in his first season at Millwall following his arrival from Oldham on a free transfer last summer.
.
Chief executive Andy Ambler will initiate talks after the Lions' South London derby against Charlton at The Valley next Saturday.
Danny Shittu trully needs a new contract. He has been a fantastic player so far
