Amaechi told newsmen in Port Harcourt, that the figure was the highest recorded since 2007.

He said that government's new tax regime, done in partnership with Skye Bank, had continuously yielded positive results.

The governor said in the past, the state generated between N5 billion and 6 billion monthly.

Amaechi, who was represented by Mr David Iyofor, his Chief Press Secretary, lauded Skye Bank for collaborating with the state.

Iyofor urged Rivers people and corporate bodies in the state to continue to support the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue and Syke Bank Tax Partners by promptly and accurately paying their taxes for sustainable growth and development of the state as funds collected would assist the administration in carrying out more developmental projects in the state.
