Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi, has declared that the calls handed to Babatude Michael and John Ogu into the provisional squad for this month's Fifa World Cup qualifying against Kenya is justified.

Questions have been raised in some quarters over the calls to Michael and Ogu, who play for Ukraine's Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih and Academica de Coimbra in Portugal respectively.

But Keshi feels his countrymen "shouldn't be hasty in judging" Michael and Ogu.

He also used the instance of Lazio's Ogenyi Onazi being called up for the first time to the Super Eagles as an instance when the composition of his squad was called into question.

"I remembered when I called up Onazi for the Liberian game last year, and so many people objected and raised questions about that. But today, that boy has continued to prove his call-up to the team was justified. So I'll say we shouldn't be hasty in judging these boys (Michael and Ogu) yet. And again, they are just in the provisional squad for the game (against Kenya)," Keshi explained.

Keshi named a provisional squad of 15 overseas players and left out the like of Joseph Yobo, Ikechukwu Uche and Emmanuel Emenike.

He also continued to snub the like of Taye Taiwo, Kalu Uche and Peter Odemwingie among others. Nigeria's Super Eagles will play hosts to the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Calabar on March 23.
