Inter Milan midfielder, Joel Obi, has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season after undergoing a successful surgery on his troubled knee in Finland two weeks ago.
.
According to his agent, Renzo Contratto, in an interview with fcinternews.it, Obi, who has been tipped as one of the future stars of the San Siro side, suffered two relapses of his left thigh injury he copped in May last year after following his return to action towards the end of last year.
.
The Italian agent however disclosed that the talented player is recovering well from the operation and may return to the field of play in the next couple of months according to the prescriptions of the medics who attended to him.
.
''Joel was operated on two weeks ago, he is doing well and he is recovering according to plans. The estimated time of his rehabilitation has been put at two months and a half," Contratto opined.
.
''The most important thing though is that he is back in action very fit and healthy- one hundred percent; but if he fails to play any other game for Inter within now and the end of this season, there is no problem about that."
.
According to the report, renowned Finish specialist, Sakari Orava, carried out the surgery on Obi's leg as recommended by Inter Milan medical team and management.
.
The 21-year-old managed only four appearances for Inter Milan in the current campaign – 2 games in the Serie A, 1 game in the Europa League and another in the Italian Cup.
That is very lucky of him. Joel Obi is nt always lucky when it comes to football injuries
