Key responsibilities of the role: As theBeverage Manager, you will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. You will managethe entire beverage operation of Intercontinental Lagos, order and carry out inventory control of beverages, plan and organize the beverage storage and display options, evaluate the overall effectiveness of drink selections, pricing and customer response.You will alsomaintain comprehensive product knowledge ofliquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, garnishments,current trends and make recommendations for appropriate adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Hospitality management degree or its equivalent with formal bartending training
- Extensive knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments.
- Alcohol awareness and knowledge of responsible service
- Ability to build relations with beverage distribution companies, breweries and even vineyards.
- Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures
- Extensive international experience in branded hotels
- Experience in high-end city operation with multi unit F&B and large Conference & Event
- Pre opening experience a strong plus
- Creative and open minded
- Good business mind and commercial flair
- Good understanding of the Nigerian/African business environments and markets
- Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
