Police launched an investigation on Sunday after coins were thrown at Frank Lampard and John Terry during Chelsea's 2-0 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.
.
Lampard, a former West Ham player, celebrated his 19th-minute goal – his 200th for Chelsea – in front of the away end along with substitute Terry where objects were hurled at them.
.
"We are investigating instances of coin-throwing at Chelsea verses West Ham on Sunday, March 17.
.
There have been no arrests. Inquiries continue," said a police spokesman.
.
A West Ham statement read: "West Ham United will be working with Chelsea to investigate the reports of missile throwing during Sunday's game at Stamford Bridge.
.
"Any individual found to have acted in an inappropriate way will have to face the consequences of their actions, including the possibility of a ban from attending future matches."
That is a very bad thing to do on the path of west ham. The police must get to the bottom of the matter
