Akwa United striker, Son Hingir will be missed in his side's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 2 mid-week encounter at Lobi Stars in Katsina-Ala.

Hingir picked up an ankle injury in training on Saturday and that rules him out of the encounter as well as Week 3 game against domestic champions, Kano Pillars.

The former Niger Tornadoes' hitman said he feels bad to miss the game he had looked forward to giving his best against his former side.

"I'll miss the game at Lobi Stars due to the ankle injury I picked up on Saturday during training. It really pains me to watch the game from the sideline.

"I've been dreaming of playing the game against my former club and in the presence of my people. Katsina-Ala is my birth place. Imagine how I've looked forward to the game only to be sidelined by injury.

"I feel so bad missing the game but I'll still travel with my teammates to Katsina-Ala to give them all the support they need to win the encounter.

"I'll be in the stands praying for them. Already I've told them to momentarily forget about the difficulties at home and go all out to record a win for club and themselves. At least to enhance our bargaining power back home.

"I'm already jogging and will only miss the Lobi Stars and Kano Pillars matches before hitting the ground running once again," said the former Lobi Stars' striker.

This injury actually came at a very wrong time. He would definately be missed in the games. Injuries can be annoying at times
