Kenya top star Victor Wanyama has boasted they could cause a big upset by beating African champions Nigeria in Saturday's World Cup qualifier.

The Harambee Stars will play their third group match in the qualifiers of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and Wanyama said he believes if the team do the right things on the pitch, qualifying for Brazil 2014 would not be a surprise.

"The players are ready for this match, there is enough mental strength and we are hopeful for favourable result in Nigeria.

In football everything is possible and we can beat Nigeria at their own turf," Wanyama said.

"Personally I want to do my best because I want to see my country go forward. Hard work will take us where we want to be and we will work hard to win not only this match but the other matches that follow because if we do things right we might even go to the World Cup."

The Celtic star, who helped his Scottish club to reach the last 16 of this season's Champions League, jetted into Kenya camp on Sunday and trained with the team for the first time on Monday morning.
