Nyamweya has launched a stunning attack
at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
over their choice to stage the 2014 World
Cup qualifiers against Kenya.

Nyamweya said that: "We don't know why they took the match to Calabar that is so far from Lagos where they said there were no stadiums; maybe it is a means of trying to scare us. We are not afraid to face them wherever it is," the FKF boss stressed.

The team, led by its newly appointed Belgian tactician, Adel Amrouche, passed the night in Lagos before heading to Calabar today for the crucial tie.

This has further irked the Kenyan camp who were expecting a chartered plane from the NFF to ferry them to Calabar the same day.

Speaking, Coach Amrouche was 100 per cent class. He first congratulated Nigeria for her Africa Cup of Nations triumph stating that Coach Stephen Keshi is his good friend and he feels elated to have a chance to play against him.

"I will like to congratulate Stephen Keshi and the Super Eagles team for the victory in South Africa, I like the opportunity to play against the African Champions and on Saturday we are going to give a good account. I cannot give any predictions but I am sure it will be great," he said.

It is on record that Nigeria has adopted Calabar as her unofficial home field right through the Afcon qualifiers and now for the WC 2014 as well.

Nigeria was last beaten 3-2 in Calabar on 15 June 1904 aboard the HMS Thistle by the Royal Navy.
