Title: ACL Race Over For Vital'O - Uzochukwu
Post by: Folami David on Mar 21, 2013, 08:58 AM
Enugu Rangers' midfielder, Uzonna Uzochukwu has said his side's Caf Champions League opponents, Vital'O have come to the end of the road in the annual elite club championship.
.
The Flying Antelopes were forced to a barren draw by the Burundian side on Sunday in the first leg, first round fixture at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in Bujumbura, Burundi with the reverse fixture expected at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu in a fortnight.
.
Uzochukwu said the East African side will be coming for the reverse fixture to fulfil all righteousness as his side are poised to give them the beating of their lives in Enugu.
.
"I sincerely believe Vital'O have come to the end of the road as far as this year's Caf Champions League is concerned.
.
"Enugu is a slaughter ground for any team visiting us, so we're not going to spare them. It's over for them.
.
"We would have killed off the game right there in Bujumbura if not the wasted chances at goal especially in the first half of the game coupled with the fact that at least 85% of the players made their debut at the continent in the encounter.
.
"When it became obvious that concerted efforts were in play to frustrate us from scoring goals we vowed that they won't score against us too.
.
"They're a good side but as I said earlier they're coming for the return leg for mere formality," said the Super Eagles' defensive midfielder.
.
The Coal City side arrived Nigeria on Tuesday from Bujumbura and will be guests of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newcomers, Nembe City in Matchday 2 on Friday at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
