[attachimg=1] A little over a year after his removal as the Governor of Ondo State by an Appeal Court ruling, Dr. Olusegun Agagu has petitioned the National Judicial Council (NJC), describing his removal as a travesty of justice.
In his petition, addressed to the NJC chairman, Agagu said the judgment given by the team of Appeal Court Judges – Umaru Faruk Abdulahi, Isa Ayo Salami, Kumai Bayang Akaah, Amina Adamu Augie and Uzo Ndukwe-Anyanwu – which sat in Benin, was fraught with irregularities and apparent manipulations.
Specifically, Agagu's grouse with the verdict of the Court, and that of the Election Tribunal which gave judgment earlier, is that the two tiers of courts accepted that elections in 10 local councils where he won were marred with irregularities while votes cast in the seven councils where the Labour Party won were retained.
