Speaking to the Executive members of the Usman Dan Fodio University Alumni Association, Abuja Chapter who paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently, the Minister explained that every University is judged by the quality of its products and as such it was imperative for all graduates to identify with their alma mater in the interest of the ranking of the institution and its overall development. He further explained that alumni association offers every graduate the opportunity to network with others who had passed through the institution and in so doing increase his/her capacity to take the benefits from such an association.
Inuwa Abdul-Kadir says "In spite of the fact that I have attended other institutions of higher learning, I am still grateful to God for the kind of training I received in Usman Dan Fodio University", adding that any privileged position one finds himself outside the University was by fate and coincidence.
The Minister thus commended the Executive members led by the Chaiman, Hajiya Rakiya Tanko Ayuba for their commitment and efforts in promoting the ideals of the Uman Dan Fodio University. He however advised them not to relent on their oars; promising them that he will contribute his quota to the Association.
The Minister earlier told the group that he had consistently given his best to the service of the institution both as a student activist and in every other capacity he found himself after graduation through to the present stage. He advised them and other members to shun any acts which can tarnish the reputation and image of their alma mater.
Inuwa Abdul-Kadir equally thanked them for giving him due recognition as one of them observing that such a gesture has the capacity to ginger him to continue to give his best to the development of the University and the country as a whole.
In her opening remarks, Hajiya Rakiya Tanko Ayuba informed the Minister that they were delighted to visit him, to identify with him on his appointment and other political attainments as an alumnus. She called on the Minister to join the Association noting his membership would add value to them and assist greatly in realizing the lofty objectives of the Association in Abuja and all over the country.
