(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nigerian-coat-of-arms-logo-5322-300x281.png) The retiring Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isa Bello Sali has advised civil servants to regard the opportunity given to them to serve Nigeria as a privilege that should not be abused.
Alhaji Sali said this when the Management and Staff of Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation held a valedictory session in his honour.
Speaking further, Alhaji Sali charged public officers to always remember the oath they took on assumption of office which he said, should guide them to serve truthfully and diligently.
He urged all Nigerians to imbibe a positive attitude as the country will surely overcome her challenges and make the desired progress.
Earlier, all the Permanent Secretaries, Directors and some of the staff members at the occasion eulogized the retiring Head of Service for the manner he conducted the affairs of the Office during his tenure.
All those who spoke were unanimous about the fact that Alhaji Sali is leaving the Federal Civil Service better than he met it. His tenure, they said, witnessed positive developments in areas such as capacity building, human resource management, ICT and the reorganization of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation among others. Of particular importance to many, was his restoration of integrity in the payment of pensions and the matured way he was able to put an end to the long-standing problem in the pension office and stabilize the system.
Alhaji Isa Bello Sali assumed office of the Civil Service of the Federation on September, 30, 2011 and is due to retire from Service on March 23, 2013 when he would attain the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
