Job Title: LE IV Fuel Man

General: The British High Commission is recruiting a fuel man to work in its Transport department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
• Receiving and recording of fuel from suppliers with the supervision of the Transport Manager and Post Security Manager
• Taking delivery of fuel to various British High Commission locations
• Recording daily dip stick readings before and after issuing of fuel
• Daily issue of fuel to BHC official vehicles
• Issue of fuel to BHC generators
• Issue of fuel to BHC Private Cars (when the need arises)
• Adequate daily recording of all fuel issued in log books and spreadsheets.
• Providing the records of fuel stock in all the locations on a weekly basis.
• Preparing weekly fuel reconciliation records.
• Preparing monthly fuel reconciliation records at end of every month.
Qualities needed:
• The High Commission is looking for candidate with previous experience in managing fuel resources, with a proven ability to work effectively without the need for constant supervision, maintaining flexibility and initiative in performance.
• The successful candidate must possess an excellent command of oral English and written communication, excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage their time effectively. Strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people is essential.
• Previous experience of working in a diplomatic mission or international organisation will be an advantage although training will be provided.
• Candidates must have good keyboard skills, and familiarity with computers and software packages (notably MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.
• Candidates must be in possession of a current driving license and be able to drive a manual vehicle.
The successful candidate will work from 0800hrs to 1600hrs Mondays to Thursdays and from 0800hrs to 1300hrs Fridays. The job will be graded LEIV with a starting monthly gross salary of N 194,897.00 including allowances. Successful candidates who are not liable to pay Nigerian tax will be subject to a 10 % notional tax deduction on the basic salary. The salary will be paid Naira.
