Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama described the draw against Nigeria as dramatic after his team was denied victory at the death in Calabar on Saturday.

However Wanyama who played a crucial role in the team was optimistic that the team has a great future saying no one had given the team a chance of getting even a draw away from home against the African champions.

"It was indeed a tough match and at one point in the game i dared dream of a win which could have broken the jinx of the team always losing to Nigeria but we were caught unawares very late in the game to concede the equalizer which was very painful.

"However I believe we have learnt our lesson and we will use them to build up to the subsequent matches but all in all it was great team work as all my team mates gave so much until the end," Wanyama said.

"Coming in Nigeria was not in vain as we made our fans back at home proud holding the African champions who were a hard nut to crack but I always believe you get new experiences that help you strengthen your resolve when you play other crucial matches," Wanyama added.
They weren't denied victory as far as i'm concerned. They should blame it on sloppy defending at the dying minutes of the game.
