Erstwhile Super Eagles midfielder, Jonathan Akpoborie, has urged Nigerians not to write off the coach Stephen Keshi led team, after their 1-1 draw against the Harambee Stars of Kenya on Saturday.

The reigning African Champions trailed the East Africans by a lone goal from Francis Nyambura in the first half of the encounter, before a last minute strike from |Serie B side, Varese striker, Nnamdi Oduamadi secured a vital point for the team.

The former Vfl Wolfburg star, opined that the challenge of the triumph of the team in South Africa will be tested against their opponents in subsequent matches.

"Nigerians should not underrate the Eagles after a one all draw against the Harambee Stars during the World Cup qualifiers at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar" he begins. "The outstanding performance of the team during their triumph in South Africa will be put to test in any of the team`s games".

Akpoborie also warned that a lot has changed in international football and the Eagles need to be ruthless in their matches.

"There is enough quality in the Eagles team to come out firing again. But they should take their games seriously as every country will want to make a mark against the African Champions.

"Also, they should be aware that every team will come at them and attempt to beat them, being African champions. Eagles must be cautious, be ruthless and take their chances." he concludes.

In the other Group F game, Malawi secured a vital away win against Namibia in Windhoek.

The Eagles emerged group F joint leader with Malawi on five points, as Namibia sit in third position on three points, with Kenya on two points.

Whoever is writing Eagles off again is making a big mistake. Has the person not learnt his or lessons yet?
