Erstwhile Super Eagles striker, Tijani Babangida, believes that the reigning African Champions missed the services of AFCON top scorer, Emmanuel Emenike, in Saturday`s FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifying tie against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.
.
The Eagles played a 1-1 draw against their East African opponents in their first game after their triumph in South Africa, the former Ajax Amsterdam of Holland star said the services of the Spartak Moscow hit man was missed, as the Eagles struggled to break down their opponent in the game.
.
Babangida, urged coach Stephen Keshi not to rely more on any player, but he should scout for those hungry and committed to play for the country.
.
"No doubt Emenike's performance at the last African Cup of Nations was superb and he was our best striker at the competition" he begins.
.
"But his absence in this game against the Kenyans shows that we don't have a player of his calibre, which is a big concern for our progress as the continental champions.
.
"Coach Stephen Keshi and his scouting team should try as much as possible to scout for good players who are hungry and committed enough to put on the green and white jersey" adds the former Eagle.
.
He however criticised Russia based hitman, Ahmed Musa, for his insipid display against the Kenyans "Musa should know that he has not arrived and he should just try and improve on his performance, to be considered for future selection by the coaches" he sums up.
I kind of agree with Babangia on this opinion. I do thnk it's proper for him to say that. Emenike was magnificent at the Nations Cup.
