Our client: A multinational specialist company in quality international removal and relocations to recruit an operations officer for its Nigerian operations.
Job description:
The operations officer will be responsible for daily port operations and the all necessary documentations; she/he must have a very good knowledge of the maritime industry.
He/she is to report to the Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
• Management of all importations by sea or air freight, including the opening of the file and all documentations
• Follow-up to the delivery of all the consignments
• Daily monitoring of the consignments in terms of import clearing and management through all port agencies
• Constant liasing and communication with all clearing agent
• Timely detection of any delay or issue in the clearing process and to immediately report it to the Manager
• Consistently advising all the clients and customers with the position of their consignment in terms of import clearing and expected date of delivery
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in maritime, transport management & Logistics and other related courses from reputable institutions
• Minimum of 3years experience in the maritime industry
• previous experience in clearing/transport departments is important
• high proficiency in the use of microsoft suites
• Strong communication and people skills
• Well organized, meticulous and able to plan and prioritize activities.
• Perform well under pressure
• Able to work as an integral member of a team as well as individually
• Sound communication and negotiation skills/ passion.
