Objectives of the role: The objective of the Capacity Building Expert is to facilitate and coordinate the provision of training and capacity building expertise, produce manuals and training materials according to best practice.
Length of the project: 48 months
Start Date: June 2013
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Advising the Team Leader on current status (e.g. capacity gaps) and foreseen interventions concerning capacity building
• Developing of training and capacity building curricula
• Leading support to develop Community Development Action Plans
• Training of NGO/CSO trainers
• Ensuring the implementation of the capacity building activities for targeted community groups and Local Governance Authorities (LGA) in the 9 states of the Delta region
• Establishing an M&E system for capacity building programme activities
• Completing any additional tasks within capacity building activities as instructed by the Team Leader
Key Skills & Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of training and capacity building
• Professional experience in capacity building in the micro-finance sector, the development of training curricula for financial institutions
• Recent experience working in financial management institutions in the region would be highly advantageous
• Excellent analytical and interview skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of people, as well as proven team building skills
• Fluent in English (both written and oral)
• Active listening skills and strong report writing skills
Education: University degree in Public Administration, Finance, Economy or related field
