Former Nigerian international, Friday Ekpo has told the Super Eagles not to be dampened by the 1-1 draw they played with Kenya, but to rather gear up for the challenges ahead.

The former FC 105 of Gabon player said that the game was just a reminder to the Super Eagles that there is more to be done.

"It's a jolt on the system for the players and technical crew.

"As African champions these sort of games will come in thick and fast. We all saw how Kenya set their team up, many teams will do so," he added.

Ekpo, who played for the Super Eagles during the Clemens Westerhof era, wants Stephen Keshi to rally the troops and get them ready for the challenges ahead.

"I spoke with coach Stephen Keshi, he knows what to do, the whole team has taken stock and have promised to bounce back and do the nation proud, I'm sure they will," Ekpo said.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria held the Harambee Stars of Kenya to a 1-1 draw at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, in a Group F Africa World Cup qualifying match.
