About the role: – The Crane Technician is responsible for performing highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs of Mobile and Fixed Overhead Crane as well as full range of maintenance, repairs and service activities on company Mobile and Overhead Cranes using considerable independent judgment in making decision with minimal supervision – The role holder will be expected to ensure that repairs and maintenance work on Mobile and Overhead Cranes are conducted in the line with applicable codes as detailed in maintenance manuals, and also make sure the job is completed successfully and safely within specific scheduled time frame and to maintain Health and Safety in the workplace.
Responsibilities and duties: – Repair and maintain crane equipment – Hydraulic system diagnostic and repair, electrical system diagnostic, and able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics as well as use fluid and load testing fluids – Installation of components – Test operation of completed units – Troubleshoot and repair of Mobile and Overhead Cranes – Install heavy components, such as pumps and transmissions under trucks – Install components in truck cabs, on truck bodies and in aerial man lifts – Replace defective parts, cleaning equipment, testing machinery and overhauling cranes – Technicians diagnose problems by operating the machines or inspecting the equipment with the help of computerized testing tools, calibration appliances and micrometers – Estimate the costs of repair, order parts and track cranes maintenance by writing technical reports – Documentation for all works performed or in process – Conduct preventive maintenance / servicing of Mobile and Overhead Cranes – Periodically inspect equipment and locate / correct problems before breakdown occurs – Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous – Rapid repair in case of breakdown in order to minimize operation downtime – Participate in proactive safety programs including Hazard – Perform job duties or assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Required Skills/Experience: What we are looking for – Knowledgeable and skilled with hydraulics, must be able to perform heavy components installation in a timely manner – Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant field – Able to climb ladders and over and under vehicles – Experienced with Terex – Physically fit – Good driving record – Must have basic computer skills – Must progress communication skills both oral and written
Required Qualifications: – High school graduate – Mechanical/Hydraulic qualification is a plus
Minimum Experience: 5 years
Maximum Experience: 20 years
