Super Eagles assistant coach Ike Shorunmu has told Complete Sports that the senior national team will get better after forcing visiting Harambee Stars of Kenya to a 1-1 draw in last Saturday's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Calabar.

"We actually approached the game with a mind of beating the Kenyans but we could only end it in a draw which was not too bad because if they had won the match, 3 points would have gone. However, the way things are now, we need to put in more commitment and effort so as to win all the remaining games in the qualifiers," says the former national team goalkeeper.

Ike who would not blame anybody for the result said Enyeama did his best to stop the free-kick that gave the Kenyans their goal, saying it could've beaten any goalkeeper.

"Enyeama is an experienced goalkeeper and he knew that winning that match would've helped us a little to move closer to Brazil; so there was nothing like underrating the opponents but if you look at that free-kick, you will see that the best goalkeeper in the world may not be able to stop the ball. But like I said earlier, all hope is not lost yet and we are going to put in more effort."

Shorunmu however assured that Nigeria will qualify for the World Cup, while calling on soccer-loving Nigerians to keep supporting the team in their bid to make the Mundial ticket a reality.
