Ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju, has challenged the Super Eagles players to understand the importance of participating in the FIFA World Cup to their career and the nation, saying they must work hard to qualify Nigeria for the tournament holding in Brazil next year.

While reacting to last Saturday's FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Calabar, he said he felt disappointed with the performance of the team in the match but believes that the Super Eagles are not out yet despite the 1 1draw.

"I am not happy with the result at all. We have just won the Africa Cup of Nations and much is expected from us but all we could get was a draw. It was quite disappointing but we cannot write off the team.

They should be made to understand the importance of the World Cup and know how to work towards it. They still have some games to play in the qualifiers andthey must make sure that they did not lose any of the games," says the former 3SC midfielder.

Adepoju has also advised the players to forget their Nations Cup victory and focus on how to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
