About the role: The Lead Planning Engineer will develop and ensure structured, consistent and accurate project planning, scheduling and reporting for significant facilities EPC projects. Champion planning methodologies with creation of supporting procedures. Maximise the use and integration of planning, scheduling and reporting systems across the projects. Mentor and coach local and expat planning engineers, planners and project controls staff. Responsibility for structured planning methodology across the company. Provide guidance and assistance to projects in resolving more difficult planning issues – e.g. recovery planning.
Key responsibilities: – Develop and maintain project planning procedures and tools for tracking and analysis of project progress against agreed baseline schedules – Create and maintain companywide "integrated plan" addressing resourcing, loading and capacity capability allowing optimisation of existing facilities, with forecasts for future needs – Develop and assure compliance with companywide work breakdown structure and coding – Assist Corporate Project Controls team in assembly of engineering/construction proposals particularly relating to planning and scheduling deliverables – Assist in the interrogation from planning deliverables of historical data pertaining to the assembly of engineering / construction norms (man-hours/cost) for use in bid proposals and future bench marking initiatives – Lead project controls staff in the production of reporting deliverables – assist in the development of skills by staff to fulfil reporting requirements – Coordinate development and update detailed plans for the Nigerdock work-scope to include all required phases of work. Upload into company "integrated plan" – Assist and facilitate risk management workshops as required
Required Skills/Experience: – Minimum 12 years of facilities engineering experience in a planning role within the Oil and Gas industry, a minimum of 5 years in a senior role – Extensive experience in schedule management systems – Demonstrable experience in building integrated systems – i.e. implementing electronic interfaces between client and contractor systems – Significant experience of recovery planning with inclusion of change management work-scopes – Must have "Master" level skills in Primavera software plus MS Project, Power Point, and MS Office – Must be able to provide direction, organize and prioritize the team work, train the work team members – Develop strong collaboration, and have mentoring and leadership skills and practices – Fluent English language written and verbal communication skills and be culturally sensitive – Mature people skills used in an authoritative manner whilst gaining the respect of the project team – Able to multi task often in a less than perfect working environment
