About the role: The Sr. Layout & Piping Engineer will act as Nigerdock representative for the relevant projects. During the EPC phase close guidance and monitoring of the engineering contractor and review of their deliverables is essential to ensure that the piping work process are performed conforming the contract requirements and that the project objectives are met. Besides the official Design Reviews the work includes spot check review of P&IDs, line-lists, plot plans, stress systems, vendor data and intermediate review of piping routings in the 3D-Model. Special attention will be paid to on time generation of material take off's, adherence to practices and the implementation of the specified codes and standards. Overall, the technical integrity of the work shall be safeguarded. Scope control is one of the key project aspects in order to prevent uncontrolled scope growth.
During construction, the Sr. Layout & Piping Engineer will move from engineering contractor office to site to mentor and supervise the development of piping fabrication drawing and piping test packages.
Responsibilities and duties: The Sr. Layout & Piping Engineer will be responsible for piping and lay-out engineering design and thereby shall adhere to ASME and ANSI codes and standards unless specified otherwise or approved by Clients. In all cases, the local rules and regulations are to be adhered to. He/she will lead a team of piping engineers and piping designers and is required to be fully conversant with piping and lay-out engineering software, PDS, PDMS and AutoCAD in particular.
Other key responsibilities are, but not limited to: – Providing technical supervision, staffing, resources, methods, procedures, standards and quality control to meet the needs of the execution plan for the project – Ensuring the technical quality of engineering and design documents, equipment and materials requisitions, specifications, etc. – Reviewing of suppliers bids and design data – Ensuring the most cost-effective and fit-for-purpose solution for the projects of Nigerdock in accordance with the contract requirements has been developed and applied – Participating in Model Reviews of the engineering contractor to ensure quality and readiness criteria are met – Participating in the development of the project integrated schedules – Ensuring applicable IMT specifications, regulations, standards and practices are being adhered to – Timely review of supplier data to meet contract turnaround – Monitoring of deliverables both internally and externally – Coordinating interfaces with other parties, as required if necessary
Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in upstream and/or downstream Oil and Energy industry
Required Qualifications: BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 15 years
Maximum Experience: 25 years
