Post by: HuffingtonPost on Apr 01, 2013, 11:31 AM
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will give her first paid speech next month, CNN reported (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/03/31/clintons-first-paid-speech-to-be-in-april/) Sunday.

According to the CNN (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/03/31/clintons-first-paid-speech-to-be-in-april/) report, Clinton will address the National Multi Housing Council (http://www.nmhc.org/) in Dallas, Texas on April 24. While Clinton's fee for the speech was not disclosed, early reports indicated that the former secretary of state will earn upwards of six figures  (http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/hillary-clinton-to-speaking-circuit-87749.html?hp=l1)per speaking engagement. According to Politico (http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/hillary-clinton-to-speaking-circuit-87749.html?hp=l1), she intends to give some of her earnings to charitable causes.

Clinton joined (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/18/hillary-clinton_n_2710863.html) the Harry Walker Agency last month, adding her name to a roster of high-profile political figures including Al Gore, Dick Cheney, Howard Dean and Karl Rove. Her husband, former president Bill Clinton, is also represented by the agency. In 2011, he earned $13.4 million (http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/03/politics/clinton-speaking-fees) from speaking engagements.

Clinton, who retired from her State Department post in early February, is also scheduled to deliver two unpaid speeches (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/27/hillary-clinton-speech_n_2966505.html) in early April. On April 2, she will speak at the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards, a Washington, DC event honoring women in leadership roles across the globe. And on April 5, Clinton will give a speech at the Women in the World Summit in New York City.
