The role: Responsible for the overall instrumentation and control engineering and are charged with designing systems for measuring and controlling plant process variables. Control and instrumentation engineers will possess skills in specific control disciplines such as advanced process control (APC), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
Functions:
• Design and develop plant control systems including DCS, instruments and control logic
• Maintain and modify existing systems
• Prepare design and cost estimates for the instrument and control group
• Create control narratives, logic diagrams, I/O list, instrument datasheets, wiring diagrams, loop drawings and equipment specifications
• Support the development of P&IDs and associated control logic
• Lead or work collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff on projects
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities on relevant issues
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving on I/C issues
• Review technical information for accuracy and contractual requirements
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
Requirements:
• Minimum of a 1st degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in instrumentation and control of power plants or power plant operation and maintenance
• Experience in DCS and modern PLCs
• Experience in Modern Control System Applications such as Woodword Micronet and Mark (V/VI).
• Sound knowledge of all types of field instruments
• Ability to prepare CMs, PMs, CBMs, Maintenance History etc.
