Job Title: Laboratory Technologist

Responsibilities:
• Collect specimens from subject and performs test and sample analyses in: chemistry, hematology, parasitology, microbiology, immunology and urinalysis. Also prepares samples for storage and maintains specimen inventory.
• Verify the validity of all submitted samples for specimen acceptability, labeling and evaluates correct specimen for the test requested ; performs QA/QC activities and reviews all tests for accuracy and consistency.
• Performs calibration, standardization,and routine maintenance on laboratory instruments among other assigned roles.
Qualifications and Skills:
• The ideal candidate should possess Degree or Higher Diploma in medical laboratory sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 year experience in a busy medical laboratory and good knowledge of CD4 testing operations and procedures.
• Must be registered with the Nigerian Medical laboratory technologist and technicians board.
• Previous experience in research and knowledge of HI/AIDS related issues are added advantages.
• Advanced computer skills,including the ability to type quickly and to use Microsoft office products, emails, and internet; ability to operate a scanner/printer machine.
Note: This position requires a significant amount of travel within the rural communities.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is an international non-governmental organization based in Los Angeles, USA, and currently implementing HIV programs in 25 countries across Africa, Asia, Central America and Eastern Europe. The Nigeria program (AHF Nigeria) provides free HIV treatment and prevention services in collaboration with the Federal ministry of health. Our advocacy department works to provide a platform where key issues affecting access to HIV testing and treatment as well rights of people living positively can be addressed. We currently implement comprehensive anti retroviral services in government clinics in Benue, Kogi and the FCT. Our clinic sites are located in rural communities, where access to care remains challenging.
