PURPOSE:
• To comply with all company procedures, rules and code of practice in developing and effectively implementing a Corporate Communications strategy, in conjunction with the Head: Public Affairs, and in consultation with the General Manager and selected Public Relations Agency, both internally and externally: ensuring an agreed vision, consistency of messages.
• To render communications support to the affiliate, through transversal team work, in order to support the business strategy and objectives of concerned affiliates.
• To manage the company's brand and associated image and reputation
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Internal Communication:
• Draft the affiliate's local communication policy, in line with the Group's Communication policy
• Oversee information flow among the other sites in the country
• Implement internal communication in harmony with the Group's Corporate Communication
• Adapt the group communication tools to the country's cultural context
• Organise in-house events and develop in-house campaigns in agreement with Corporate Communications so as to further staff knowledge of the Group
• Instill the Group's values in the staff and deepen the feeling of pride in belonging to the Group
• Produce local newsletter (local In 'Tonic) and local internal communications (Intranet etc.) as well as local in-house events (greeting cards, kick-off etc.)
• Work together with HR, Marketing, Sales and Medical, where appropriate, to communicate divisional messages internally, as required.
• Optimize cross-functional support and effective communication within the organization. Manage professional networks at all levels of the global Communications organization and be proactive in local professional organizations/associations
External Communication:
• Be the local spokesperson for the concerned affiliates, along with the General Managers, vis-à-vis the media
• Ensure that key messages relating to the Group and its products are duly delivered (Brand PR, press releases, etc.)
• Ensure consistency in all communication (dissemination of messages)
• Conduct regular assessments of the situation concerning external communication, the media and the media's expectations etc.
• Organise local events with the approval of the Corporate Communications Department (trade fairs, conferences, corporate sponsorship initiatives etc.)
• Ensure the availability of communication tools that are tailored to the various target audiences (journalists, health care professionals, general public). Examples: external publication, prevention campaigns etc.
• Consider health care-related corporate sponsorship as a major axis of communication
Miscellaneous:
• Act as an intermediary for Corporate Communications when it comes to local activities, providing regular updates (monthly reports/in-house agency/press clippings etc.)
• Establish the budgets required for the purposes of communication activities, in agreement with Line Manager and manage the local expenditure
• Ensure the availability of the resources needed to fulfil these duties
• Participate in the implementation of the affiliate's social responsibility programmes, as assigned
Additional Information:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Degree in Journalism/Communications/ Public Relations or its equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years' cognate experience in a management position
• Knowledge and good understanding of Good Communications Practise in the countries of coverage
