Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has called for total support for Stephen Keshi in his choice of players for the national team, saying the coach should be given a free hand to carry out his technical duties.
.
Keshi caused a stir when he dropped his skipper, Joseph Yobo, and handed call-ups to Academica of Portugal's John Ogu and Babatunde Michael for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya which ended in a 1-1 draw in Calabar two weeks ago and Oliseh is of the view that a coach must be at liberty to invite any player he thinks can do a good job for him in any assignment following Yobo's recent interview on the local radio station Brila FM where he slighted Keshi for lack of respect.
.
"At some points, I think Keshi should have told him but we should not make a mole out of the mountain hill just because Yobo was dropped from the team against Kenya."
.
"It's Keshi's decision to pick whoever he deems fit to carry out whatever he plans for games and players must learn to respect that."
.
Oliseh further added that it is a matter of must for the reigning AFCON champions to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but quickly pointed out that the players must show the same attitude that won them the title when they face Kenya and Namibia in June.
.
"It's normal thing in football getting unexpected results whether home or away. Kenya came to Calabar and played the game of their lives and that was why they celebrated the draw".
