Title: Nancy Reagan Reminisces About Her Relationship With Margaret Thatcher
Post by: HuffingtonPost on Apr 09, 2013, 12:30 AM
Former First Lady Nancy Reagan called into (http://video.msnbc.msn.com/mitchell-reports/51469110#51469110) MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports" to share memories of her relationship with former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

"We had a very special relationship," Reagan said.

"I think people thought she and I didn't have a relationship," Reagan told Mitchell. "Nothing could be father from the truth."

The former First Lady also commented on Thatcher and former U.S. President Ronald Reagan (http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/apr/08/margaret-thatcher-america-ronald-reagan). Thatcher and Reagan had a close relationship (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/08/margaret-thatcher-ronald-reagan_n_3036923.html?utm_hp_ref=politics) during Reagan's two terms as president and held very similar political views.

"And of course I loved it that she and Ronnie were as close as they were," Reagan said.

Thatcher died early Monday morning (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/08/margaret-thatcher-dead_n_3036208.html?ir=World) after suffering a stroke. Thatcher served as Prime Minister (http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/margaret-thatcher-former-british-prime-minister-dead-at-87/2013/04/08/601465d4-c5dc-11df-94e1-c5afa35a9e59_story.html) for 11 years until she stepped down in 1990. She was 87.
