(http://www.channelstv.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/jamb-and-neco-360x225-300x187.jpg) (http://www.channelstv.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/jamb-and-neco-360x225.jpg)Members of staff of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board under the aegis of the Non Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria have appealed to the federal government to shelve the planned scrapping of the universities tertiary matriculation examination as recommended by the Steve Orosanye-led committee on the restructuring of federal government agencies.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Chairman of NASU, JAMB chapter, Comrade Samuel Azaba says the union may be forced to seek legal redress over the implementation of the committee's report advising the federal government to scrap the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Comrade Azaba added that the government would be pretending to be advocates of the principles of federal character by scrapping the UTME since the examination has proven over the years to be a veritable tool in uniting the nation.

I support the scrapping big time. It has to be cancelled once and for all. Federal govt should go ahead with it
