Title: Alhaji Aliyu Ismaila Numa resumes as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence.

During the handing over ceremony, Alhaji Numa stressed the need for extant civil service rules to be upheld and implemented on daily basis in order to overcome the varied challenges that has battered the image of the civil service.

The Permanent Secretary said "Work ethics and morals of the service and more especially the spirit of esprit-de-corps must be reawakened and practised among officers of the civil service since we hold a great responsibility for effective and efficient output and performance to move the nation to a higher level, which is in line with the transformation agenda of the present administration.

Alhaji Numa said he was at the Ship House for a purpose and affirmed that he is a team player and will therefore rely on the knowledge and superior submission of all the Directors, he says he will appreciate honest advice that will enable the ministry arrive at laudable achievement.

Alhaji Numa expressed the belief that all challenges are surmountable and he would therefore expect high performance, proper usage of funds while also collaborating with the Military Services to achieve profitable landmarks during his period in the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary also stressed very strongly the implementation of the budget through approved work-plan, since according to him, a thorough, transparent and quality work is the evidence of a well implemented and successful budget.  He disclosed that he would encourage inter-departmental cooperation as an important leverage for efficient performance.

Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary strongly emphasized the need for cooperation, understanding and most importantly the issue of punctuality and quality of work which he said, he is keenly passionate about.

The acting Permanent Secretary, who handed over to Alhaji Numa pledged the support and cooperation of other Directors to support him to achieve excellent performance during his tenure.

The impressive handing-over ceremony was well attended by Directors.
