(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/inuwa-abdul-kadir1-300x224.jpg) As the Federal Government makes spirited efforts at accelerating the country's development through the transformation agenda, the Minister of Youth Development, Inuwa Abdul-Kadir has underscored the contributions of the teeming youths to national development describing them as essential building blocks.
Speaking at the Nigerian Conversation, Paris Edition, a youth mainstreaming initiative hosted by Commonwealth Youth Organization which positively engages Nigerians both at home and abroad, the Minster observed that Nigeria is blessed with a vibrant and resourceful young population which can contribute significantly to the developmental aspiration of the country. He thus emphasized the imperative for all stakeholders in the Nigeria project to harness the enormous resources latent in the youth who are about 80 million of the entire 170 million of the country's population. He reasoned that no nation with such a huge population will overlook the potential it can bring to bear on its overall development.
Inuwa Abdul-Kadir also took time to elaborate on the various programmes and policies of the Federal Government across the different sectors put in place to address the challenges facing the youths in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan's administration. He therefore, implored Nigerian youths at home and in the Diaspora to join hands with the Federal Government to transform the youth sector.
Additionally, he praised the organizers of the forum particularly the Commonwealth Youth Organization for spearheading the previous Conversations and for giving the youths the platform to lend their voices to the nation's developmental efforts; noting that the Paris Edition will be as successful as the Nigerian Conversation Peace and Unity Forum held in London last November.
At the occasion were the Ambassador of Nigeria to France, the National Coordinator of the Commonwealth Youth Organization, Nigerian youths in Europe and other members of the international community.
