Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu Ugochukwu has come out to debunk news making the rounds that he is injured and won't be available for the Super Eagles crucial engagements in June.
.
The Academica de Coimbra player, in a clear the air interview, revealed exclusively to supersport.com from his base in Portugal that the stories are not true.
.
"I don't know where the reports emanated from, I has a slight knock after the Sporting Lisbon game, there was some swelling on my knee, but that was it" he said.
.
Ogu, who made his debut against Kenya last month insists the injury is not serious to make him miss the up coming games.
.
"The swelling wasn't serious, I actually played against Estoril the next week, as a precautionary measure I was rested for last weekend's game.
.
The former Uniao Lleria player later took to the social networking site Twitter to deny the news. He wrote via his Twitter account ( @ogujohnugo) that:
.
"There Are Reports In The News That I'm injured and will be operated upon, the report is not true. He wrote via his account.
.
"I have a slight injury on my knee and my doctor said i will be fine without surgery in less than a week after treatment. I appreciate you All For your concern and I want to say that i'm fine and will be in Super Eagles Camp....THANKS"
.
John Ogu made his Super Eagles debut last month in the World Cup qualifying game against Kenya in Calabar and he was recently handed another call up for the upcoming matches by Coach Stephen Keshi.
