Germany coach Joachim Loew says the German- Spanish last four of the Champions League shows that "very modern football" is being played in the two leagues.
.
"That two teams each from Germany and Spain have reached the last four is of course an exciting constellation, which for me is also proof that very modern, extremely well organised football is being played in these countries," he told dpa Thursday.
.
Newly-crowned German champions Bayern Munich join Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and Spanish sides Barcelona and Real Madrid in the draw for the semifinals, to be made Friday.
.
Loew said this season's semifinal line-up did not mean Spain and Germany would not now be the chief rivals for supremacy in Europe.
.
"It would be completely wrong to see Spain as the only rival for German football. England, Italy, France remain in the long-term also on a par for me, at both club and international level."
.
But Loew said the fact that many German internationals would be playing in the semifinals was good for the national side ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
.
Apart from Bayern's and Dortmund's internationals, midfielders Mesut Oezil and Sami Khedira will also feature for Real.
.
"This will really be a big boost for the development of each individual player," he said.
