The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has assured the Golden Eaglets that they would not be lacking anything in their quest to win the 10th CAN Under 17 in Morocco.
.
Speaking with players and officials at the Stade Zarktoni in Marrakech after their training session on Thursday, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the Director of Competitions, said the NFF was leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the Golden Eaglets go all the way despite its current difficult financial state.
.
He said the team should not be distracted about the rationalization being carried within all strata of the national teams, asking them to be focused on the job at hand and justify the huge expectations of Nigerians.
.
"Your team is dear to Nigerians and NFF in particular; and we want you to be focused," said Sanusi who led the team to Morocco on Wednesday."We know our obligations to this team but I want to assure you that we shall do our best.
.
"The board and management of the NFF is giving you all the backing to emerge Champions of Africa, we know you are capable of doing this," he said while commending the coaches for a job well done so far.
.
He further enjoined the players to be disciplined with the desire of combining education with their soccer careers.
.
Responding on behalf of the team, Head Coach Manu Garba (MFR) thanked the NFF for its usual magnanimity to the team, adding that the players are ready to do the country proud at the tournament.
.
"We are steadfast about our main objective of qualifying for the World Cup as African Champions and by the grace of God, we shall succeed," stated Garba who was a gold medal winner at the 2007 under -17 WorldCup in Korea.
.
"The ball is now in the court of the players and they know what is expected of them. " What we want is for Nigerians to continue to assist them with their prayers and we shall be victorious," he noted.
