An Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Road Traffic Superintendent RTS Rotimi Adenaike has been rewarded by a member of the public with a cash gift for her diligence and commitment to duty. The Officer, who usually controls traffic at Tekobo and Elite junction, Idi Aba in Abeokuta was made N10, 000 richer by an appreciative member of the public, one Dr. Adesina, a medical practitioner in the State.        Presenting the cash gift brought earlier to the Corps’ headquarters to RTS Adenaike, the Corps Commander, Commander Ayo Sangofadeji said the gesture was a confirmation of the fact there would always be a reward for hard work, diligence and dedication to duty. Sangofadeji tasked other men and Officers to emulate Adenaike’s selflessness and commitment, promising that the Corp would always provide them with necessary tools to perform and discharge their duties as expected.        He urged them to shun corruption, absenteeism and report to their duty posts punctually, pointing out that they are image maker of the Corps and the State.  “You must always do your work diligently as whatever you do rightly or wrongly will affect the image of the Corps. So you need to do your best to project the image of the Corps and be its good ambassador wherever you find yourself” said Sangofadeji. In her reaction after the presentation, Adenaike who was obviously stunned by the gift thanked the anonymous donor, pledging not to relent and urged her colleagues to be good ambassadors of the Corps

Commitment to duty is always a good thing. This would serve as a lesson to those who do the exact opposite.
