Context/Scope: The Benin Brewery produces around 44khl of various Guinness Products weekly through and establishment of around 320 permanent employees and various supporting contractors. The products are made for the local, national and export markets. The Brewery works in harmony with its sister breweries in Lagos & Aba to ensure that costs of the delivered products are optimized
Dimensions:
a) Leadership Responsibilities: The role holder works locally to lead the site and also working as a key member of the Supply Leadership Team to drive capability and delivery objectives for the business.
Purpose of Role: Overall site responsibility for Brewery operations in terms of Production, Packaging, Engineering, Quality, HR Management, Commercial Services to ensure efficient running of the Brewery and deliver on the Key Performance Indicators, as defined in the annual operating budget.
Key Accountabilities: – Ensure that all products required are produced and packaged to target volumes and specifications with best possible efficiencies, optimum Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and greatest cost effectiveness – Co-ordinate, review and agree Brewery Annual Operating Plan (AOP) submissions as well as formulation and implementation of capital projects – Ensure that Brewery costs (Fixed, Variable and Minor Works) are well managed within budget – Formulate and participate effectively in initiatives to drive brewery performance and efficiencies through people development – Ensure the enforcement of the company's standards of health, safety and environmental practices; the protection of personnel on the site as well as the protection of the company assets
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: – Graduate Calibre with a Science, Engineering or a related degree – Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in drinks manufacturing environment, with 5years in a Senior Management role – Experience in Brewing operations is preferred – Broad experience in Operations including Quality, Health and Safety, Environment, Production and Cost Management – Good understanding of the Benin working environment and dynamics – Ability to handle complexities in a Plant/manufacturing environment – Strong Leadership and Commercial capabilities – International Brewers Guild (IBG) qualification to Diploma level and skilled in the normal business software tools of the modern working environment is mandatory
