Mr Obuah had filed a lawsuit to challenge the election of Mr Akeh who was elected chairman of the Rivers State executive chapter of PDP at the state congress in February 2011. The National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Victor Kwom administered the oath of office and allegiance on the state Chairman and Secretary along with 27 other members in the presence of members of the National Working Committee of the party. Present at the swearing in ceremony were the minister of state of education, Nyesom Wike, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara and Senator, Lea Maeba.
